My Tiger My Timing are: Anna Vincent (vocals), James Vincent (guitar, bass), Jamie Harrison (guitar, bass), Seb Underhill (keys) and Gary Drain (drums)
My Tiger My Timing named their debut album ‘Celeste’ after the rifle brandishing girl on the album cover - apt for a collection of innocent, pop gems with a stirring darker undercurrent.
“I like to think that the songs are written from the perspective of a grown up who is still that kinda serious, kinda dark, slightly lonely little kid at heart” – Anna Vincent
Like Lady Hawke or Le Roux there’s a dark heart beating under their sublime upbeat pop recalling the better side of the 80’s. Layered with the infectious dance-floor electro is a post-punk soul and reggae beats recalling - especially on the tracks such as opener “Wasteland” and “Written In Red” – the sound of The Slits bass heavy grooves.
My Tiger My Timing was formed in New Cross, south London in 2008. They have released four critically acclaimed singles through their own Snakes & Ladders label, as well as an EP through Pure Groove - including material produced by New Young Pony Club and Hot Chip - and tracks through Kitsuné and Modular Records. Their third single “Endless Summer” made BBC 6 Music and Xfm playlists in August 2011, with support from the likes of Lauren Laverne and John Kennedy.
My Tiger My Timing have toured extensively across the UK and Europe, both headlining and also supporting the likes of Phoenix, Metronomy, Django Django, Crystal Fighters and Is Tropical. In addition to playing the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, V Festival, Radio One's Big Weekend and The Great Escape.
They tour Europe again at the end of April, with UK and European festivals currently being confirmed for the summer, and London dates on April 17th at The Barfly and May 28th at The Lexington.
The band's 10-track debut album, 'Celeste', comes out through Snakes & Ladders on 2nd July, with their fifth single, “The Gold Rush” preceding this on 25th June.
